Pre-leasing is underway on a Choice Properties REIT site on Mill St./Hwy 90 in Angus, a community in the Essa township southwest of Barrie, Ontario. A 27,000-square foot No Frills supermarket is presently on the site at the corner of Essa Township Rd. About 10,000 square feet is to be developed that will offer end cap and in-line opportunities. Construction will start in July on a Harvey’s/Swiss Chalet combo location with a drive-thru. David Scorniaenchi at Choice Properties is responsible for the leasing and suggests quick service restaurants, services and dental as potential uses. Mill St. is a major artery from Hwy 400 and has an average traffic count of about 19,400 vehicles. Over 14,600 people are within a ten kilometre radius of the site and the average age is about 37 years. Each year the population more than doubles due to a military population and new military trainees. The average household income in the area is in excess of $91,600 yearly.
