Barrie – Open Centre – North Barrie CRossing
Choice Properties REIT is leasing the second phase of North Barrie Crossing in Barrie in Central Ontario. The site is currently anchored by a 65,000 square foot Zehrs supermarket along with a 21,000 square foot Shoppers Drug Mart and an 8000 square foot LCBO. The North Barrie Crossing site is contiguous with Pen Equity’s North Barrie project that includes LA Fitness and Cineplex. Starting in the Spring, Choice REIT will be constructing two multi-tenanted buildings totaling 17,000 square feet for possession in Fall 2018. In addition, there is potential for up to 60,000 square feet of mid-box retail on site. North Barrie Crossing is located at Cundles Rd. East and Duckworth St., off of Hwy 400. It has close proximity to Georgian College and Royal Victoria Health Centre. The average age in the area is about 40-years and the average household income within a five kilometre radius is in excess of $88,700 per year.
