Contrecoeur – Open Centre – Marche Contrecoeur
Jaime Roskies at Brookline Developments is pre-leasing a new grocery-anchored shopping centre that is to be built in Contrecoeur, a community of over 16,200 people located about 45 kilometres northeast of Montreal. Marche Contrecoeur is located off of Hwy 30 at rue St Antoine and rue des Patriotes intersection, at the entrance to the city. The site is zoned C6-101, permitting grocery, financial, medical, health, variety and convenience retail stores, restaurants and services. The centre is shadow-anchored by Rona and a Shell station, Tim Hortons, a new Caisse Desjardins and a new Uniprix Pharmacy are in the immediate vicinity. The trade area is growing at a rate of about 7.7 percent and a major project is underway to expand the Port of Contrecoeur making the port a regional transportation hub. Over the next ten years, approximately 375 companies are projected to locate in the area, creating 24,000 jobs, at a rate of 2000 jobs per year. Currently the average household income in the area is over $79,800 per year and about 15,400 vehicles pass the site on Hwy 30 each day.
