Choice Properties REIT is planning to a Fall 2017 occupancy on the first phase of a redevelopment of its 123 Pioneer Park, a 73,240-square foot grocery-anchored neighbourhood centre at Pioneer Dr., Old Carriage Dr. and Homer Watson Blvd. in Southwest Kitchener. The new Zehr’s supermarket will be about 43,250 square feet, almost double its current size. Freestanding Dairy Queen and Tim Hortons restaurants are presently operating on the site. Leasing Manager Paul Ceresne is now leasing the second phase of the project for a Fall 2018 turnover. A wide selection of retail, service, restaurant uses with patio and end cap opportunities in several freestanding buildings ranging in size from 3900 square feet and larger. Located near the Conestoga College campus and in an area that includes high rise residential buildings, established single family homes in the Doon Valley community as well as light commercial and industrial to the north of the site, the centre counts over 25,900 people within a three kilometre radius. The average age in the area is about 38-years and the average household income is in excess of $133,000 per year. More than 39,500 vehicles pass the site on Homer Watson Blvd. daily.
