St John’s, NFLD – Enclosed Mall – Avalon Mall

In May, Crombie REIT announced that it was commencing Phase 1 of a multi- tiered renovation, redevelopment and remerchandising of Avalon Mall in St. John’s in Newfoundland.   The first phase has a $55-million price tag and construction of a four-level parking garage has already begun.   It will also see a floor to ceiling total refresh with an interior renovation.  As part of this plan, several tenants are on the move within the centre.  Soft Moc recently opened a 3700 square foot flagship location in the former HMV space.  Charm Diamond Centre, Jump + and The Source are also relocating and expanding within the centre to backfill the former Gap location.  The mall has signed Sunrise Records to take over part the old Gap location.   Sunglass Hut also relocated from its kiosk location to go in-line.  As part of these moves there are now leasing opportunities of 1350, 1900 and 3800 square feet within the mall.  The Avalon Mall food court will also have a substantial new look as five previous tenants have been replaced with Mucho Burrito, Cultures, Mr. Souvlaki, Pannizza and Subway.  Avalon Mall is a two-level enclosed regional mall located in St. John's.  It is the largest enclosed shopping mall in Newfoundland and Labrador at approximately 564,000 square feet of leasable area.
