Earlier in December, Chosabi, the quick casual Asian fusion concept, opened an 1890 square foot end cap location on Taylor Ave. in Winnipeg’s Grant Park Festival. Introduced in June 2015, Chosabi features a menu that ranges from rice bowls to poke bowls and ramen, as well as its signature sushi burrito. The units are licensed for beer and wine. The chain uses only the freshest ingredients and locally sourced products. A franchise concept, there are now five locations located throughout the city. Grant Park Festival is a lifestyle project on Taylor Ave. in South Winnipeg. Featuring a unique façade, the multiple-building project is situated between Waverley St. and Pembina Hwy and surrounded by five large residential communities. Grant Park Festival is anchored by Sobeys and is also adjacent to the WalMart Supercentre-anchored mixed-use Grant Park Pavilions development. Along with several national restaurants such as Boston Pizza, Subway, Starbucks and Burger King, the centre also features such chains as Dollarama, Pet Valu, GameStop, etc. The Grant Park retail node features a population of over 84,600 people with a median age of about 40 years. The daytime population is over 75,900 people and the average household income is in excess of $115,500 per year.
