After a year in the making, late last week, husband and wife team Tristan and Melanie Foucault opened the Preservation Hall Eatery + Wine Bar at 655 Empress St at the Polo Festival in Winnipeg. The 5032 square foot chef-driven concept features a farm-to-table menu and French inspired cuisine. The freestanding fine dining restaurant with patio is at the southwest corner of the project. Polo Festival is in the Polo Park retail node that serves shoppers from all over the province with its selection of national and international retailers. Over 124,000 people are within a ten-minute radius of the site and the daytime population counts more than 155,000 people. The median age is about 38-years and the average household income is more than $91,000 per year. Dino Alevizos at Shindico Realty Inc. is handling the leasing on the centre and notes that there are limited existing and new development opportunities available in the project. A 3200 square foot pad site and up to 8000 square feet, next to the Chapters store, can be developed. In addition, 3036 to 11,216 square feet is available in an existing building. Over 11,000 vehicles pass the site daily on Empress St. and the site is less than four kilometres southeast of the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport.
