The first CANNABIS XPRESS is scheduled to open in a new project at 405 Veterans Dr. at Wanless Dr. in Brampton in April and the second opens in Uxbridge in the Summer, reports Owner Chris Jones. And he adds that the company is searching for more locations in Ontario. Modeled after the fast-food restaurant industry, CANNABIS XPRESS is a new approach to cannabis retailing, designed to offer quick service in a clean and convenient location. The stores will include limited products to select from, adding to an emphasis on speed and convenience. “The smaller stores will allow us to keep build-out costs low, labor costs low, speed up the time to build and open, and provide better prices to our customers since we have such a low-cost model,” said Jones. The company’s plan is to have at least five stores open by end of 2021 with another five to ten in various stages of development. The ultimate goal is to have 15 to 25 stores open by the end of 2022. Cannabis Xpress can operate in highly visible units as small as 50 square feet up to 800 square feet, with a focus on the underserved markets throughout Ontario. The company is prepared to lease or buy premises.
