Last week, the new 41,356 square foot Save On Foods supermarket opened at the Pembina Crossing in South Winnipeg. Toys R Us, Best Buy, Staples, Petland, Dollarama, etc. are currently operating in the centre and Michael Stronger at Shindico Realty Inc. is now preleasing two pad sites on the north side of the site, at the Plaza Dr. entrances to the project, are available for development. Pembina Crossing is an open 225,000 square foot community centre at Bishop Grandin Blvd. and Pembina Hwy, positioned on one of Winnipeg’s busiest north/south corridor. The centre has easy access to the surrounding growing communities. The site is two kilometres north of the University of Manitoba campus and the new Winnipeg Blue Bomber stadium. Over 188,000 people are within ten minutes of the site and the daytime population in that area is more than 161,000 people. The median age is about 37 years and the average household income in the trade area is in excess of $106,400 per year. Save On Foods has scheduled its grand opening celebrations for later this week.
