Ottawa-based terra20 was created about nine years ago, in part out of frustration due to the lack of a single source for eco-friendly products and information. An 18,000 square foot store was opened at the Pinecrest Shopping Centre in the Ottawa suburb in 2012. Positioned adjacent to the IKEA store, the new terra20 Neighbourhood Store created and sustained a strong retail and online presence with its array of in-demand eco-friendly products. The stores carry products in a variety of categories including personal care, skin care and beauty and home essentials. Cleaning products, which are highlighted by the patented ecobar, a refill station with over 20 products, including personal care and cleaning are great for the environment and at economical pricing. The first terra20 franchise store opened on Wellington St in Ottawa’s Hintonburg area about two years ago and the second is scheduled to open this Summer in The Trainyards in Ottawa. The company is currently seeking locations throughout Ottawa at this time as well as in Whitby/Oshawa, Kitchener/Waterloo and in Toronto with immediate requirements in Liberty Village and Leaside. Depending on the location and demographics, the franchised stores are ideally in a 1200 to 2000 square foot range. President and Co-Founder Bill Stewart is handling the franchising and Richard Getz at Colonnade BridgePort Realty is responsible for the site selection.
