Campbellton, NB – Enclosed Mall – Sugarloaf Mall

Construction is underway on a 23,000 square foot Giant Tiger discount store in part of the former Zellers site at the Sugarloaf Mall in Campbellton in New Brunswick. The unit is expected to open late in 2018 and will leave units ranging from 800 to 8000 square feet available immediately in the 196,000 square foot mall. Jim Chambers at Chambers Developments is handling the leasing and notes that suggested uses include various specialty retail stores and in particular, fashion and footwear uses.  Acquired by Quebec City-based Immostar Inc. in late 2016, Sugarloaf Mall is the dominant shopping centre in the Atholville area in north central New Brunswick.  Situated on Val D’Amour Rd. in the city’s main shopping node, the 35-store mall presently includes a 16,000 square foot Shoppers Drug Mart, a 12,500 square foot Dollarama, a 6500 square foot Mark’s Work Wearhouse and a 22,250 square foot Hart department store that open a year ago. The 14-acre site is across from a Walmart Supercentre with Canadian Tire, Kent Building Supplies and Atlantic Superstore in close proximity.  Over 31,000 people in more than 13,600 households are in the mall’s primary trading area.
