Construction is well underway on the new IGA Extra supermarket at the Marche Contrecoeur, a neighbourhood community in Contrecoeur, a growing community about 45-kilometres east of downtown Montreal. Co-tenants in the open centre will include SAQ, Dollarama, Eggspress, A&W, Banque Nationale, Boutique d’animaux Chico and Opto Reseau and Jaime Roskies at Forum, who is responsible for the leasing, adds that an inline 1400 square foot unit is available along with 1400 square feet up to 7000 square feet in a pad unit that is to be available for Summer 2021. Marche Contrecoeur is an open community centre on a 6.9-acre site at Autroroute de L’Acier and rue St Antoine, at the entrance to the city’s residential core. Situated on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, Contrecoeur is about to undergo a major transformation, driven in part by the expansion of the Port of Montreal that will turn the area into a regional and international transportation hub, creating about 24,000 jobs in the region over the next ten years.
