Shops of Kildonan Mile, the first major retail expansion in Northeast Winnipeg’s dense Regent & Lagimodiere node in over a decade, will add over 340,000 square feet of mixed-use development featuring a mix of retail, service, office and multi-family residential. Surrounded by one of the city’s fastest growth residential areas with thousands of new homes planned, the Regent and Lagimodiere node is the largest shopping destination in East Winnipeg with over three-million square feet. The Shops of Kildonan is adjacent to Costco and Canadian Tire and across from the Kildonan Place regional centre and will feature over 2300 feet of frontage onto the recently opened Reenders Dr. A construction start is anticipated in 2022 for multiple retail and restaurant units, including pad sites, and with patio and drive-thru features. The spaces will start at about 1400 square feet with larger locations for bigger users such as grocery, fashion, etc. A multi-family residential component is also being planned. Part of the multi-million-dollar investment in infrastructure in the West Transcona area, the extension of the four-lane Reenders Dr. provides a quick and easy access to all areas of the city.
