Contrecoeur – Open Centre – Marche Contrecoeur
Pre-leasing is underway on Marché Contrecoeur, a new development in Contrecoeur, a community located about 45 kilometres northeast of Montreal. Located at the intersection of Rue St-Antoine and Rue des Patriotes and with frontage and access to Autoroute 30, the grocery-anchored open centre will be a destination community shopping plaza. The shopping center will exceed 75,000 square feet of gross leasable area. Construction will commence in June 2020 and spaces ranging from 1,200 square feet to 15,000 square feet are available for Fall 2020 occupancy. Neighbouring tenants include IGA, Rona, SAQ, Shell, Tim Hortons, Caisse Desjardins, Uniprix, etc. The population of the trade area exceeds 16,550 people and is growing at a rate of 5.3 percent per year. Over 16,000 vehicles are passing the site daily and the average household income is in excess of $80,652 per year. Located on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, a major project is currently underway to expand the Port of Contrecoeur making the port a regional transportation hub. Over the next 20 years approximately 375 companies are projected to locate here, creating 24,000 jobs, at a rate of 2,000 jobs per year. Jaime Roskies, at Forum Properties, is handling the leasing.
