Custom apparel chain Indochino is preparing to cautiously reopen its showrooms in accordance with local guidelines. The company’s unique showroom model is ideally positioned to offer a safe and positive experience for customers as they return to physical stores. With its ‘shopping by appointment’ format, customers partner with a Style Guide to choose a fabric, select customizations and create a measurement profile. There is no need to try on clothes from open inventory that others might have worn, and fit samples used for measurements will be sanitized between every appointment. Once an order has been placed, the one-of-a-kind garments are shipped directly to the customer in two weeks. For subsequent purchases, the client can simply schedule another showroom appointment or shop online, accessing their measurement profile at the touch of a button. Presently, twelve showrooms are open for personal shopping by appointment. This will increase to at least 27 of the brand's 52 North America showrooms by the end of May, with the majority of the network open in June, as conditions allow. Earlier this year Indochino opened a showroom at the Westfield Valley Fair in San Jose in California and later in the Summer, a showroom is scheduled for the Brickell Town Center, its second location in Miami. Oberfeld Snowcap Inc. is responsible for the chain’s site selection in Canada. Ideal sites include enclosed malls and urban street fronts ranging from 1500 to 2000 square feet in size.
