Winnipeg, MB – Open Centre – Plaza at Polo Park
The new Winners/HomeSense opened in the Plaza at Polo Park on St. James St. in Winnipeg’s Polo Park shopping node on September 28th. With the 24/7 Intouch contact center that opened earlier this year, it leaves about 35,000 square feet of retail space available in the former Target department store space. “We still have space available between 24/7 and the HomeSense and Winners space, but we have it set up that hopefully we’ll have a tenant there before too long,” Shindico Realty’s Sandy Shindleman stated in an interview with Global News Radio 680 CJOB. “Now we’re working on trying to attract best-in-class ideas and planning for some mixed use, some office and some retail to be their neighbours.” In addition, several build-to-suit units, including freestanding pads, are available for retail, restaurant, services, offices and hotel uses in the 600,000 square foot project. Situated adjacent to the Polo North development with Marshall’s, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Mark’s Atmosphere, Destination Maternity, etc., the Plaza at Polo Park is a joint venture between Cadillac Fairview and Shindico Realty. It is also next to the Polo Park Shopping Centre regional mall. Over 134,900 people are in over 57,000 households within a ten-minute drive of the site. The median age is almost 38-years and the average household income is in excess of $91,900 per year. The daytime population within a five minute drive is more than 30,500 people and about 29,000 vehicles pass the site on St. James St. daily. John Pearson, Robert Shindleman, Sandy Shindleman and Michael Stronger at Shindico Realty are handling the leasing.
