On Saturday, a new PetSmart opened at East Point Shopping in Saint John in New Brunswick. At 17,000 square feet, it will be the largest store of its kind in the province. It is also the chain’s second location in the province. The PetSmart opening is the fourth new flagship retailer to open at East Point this year, following a 60,000-square foot Sobeys Extra, a 14,000-square foot NB Liquor store and 5000-square foot Celebrate! Store that further establish the project’s regional draw. In 2017, additional new-build space will be coming available in the project and some select existing location will be made available for new tenants. East Point Shopping is a 90- acre development anchored by Costco Wholesale, Sobeys and Home Depot along with several national fashion and hospitality brands. The project is located on a series of prominent plateaus overlooking the busy retail community in East Saint John and offers strong visibility and convenient access from NB Hwy 1. Dave Marino at Marino Locations Ltd. is handling the leasing of the project.
