1960s Nostalgia for Calgary…………

Launched in the mid-2000s in a small plaza on 132nd St in northwest Edmonton, Hathaway’s Diner is a breakfast and lunch restaurant known for its classic diner experience, hearty comfort food, signature homemade pies its 1960s nostalgic memorabilia. The diner emphasizes an old-school, neighborhood atmosphere, friendly service, generous portions, and retro charm. Its menu features classic fare such as pancakes, omelets, burgers and brunch specialties, positioning it as a community staple for casual dining.  About six years ago, having grown up in the restaurant business Mitch Halibi acquired the restaurant from the original owners and in late Summer 2024, he opened a second Hathaway’s Diner location in the Shops at Boudreau plaza on Bellrose Dr in at Albert and in late 2025, a third location, a street front unit on 124th St NW at 102nd Ave NW in downtown Edmonton.   Halibi is now looking toward expansion into the Calgary market and has retained Angela Wilhelm at Willspire Real Estate Services Inc. to handle the search, targeting suitable locations in the 1200 to 2000 square foot range.
