Last week, York Developments announced that construction is expected to start shortly on a 140,000 square foot Walmart Supercentre that will be joining The District, the multi-building Wonderland-Wharncliffe development at Wonderland Rd and Wharncliffe Rd in southwest London in southwestern Ontario. The Walmart anchor at the south end of the development is expected to open in 2028, joining a 100,000 square foot RONA+ in the centre. Simon Smith at Carfrae Consulting has been retained to handle the leasing on the more than 130,000 square foot centre and adds that available spaces range from 1000 to 50,000 square feet. The suggested uses include retail, restaurant, specialty uses, services, medical, education, financial, etc. The District/ Wonderland-Wharncliffe is located in a dominant commercial node in London with over 1.2-million square feet of retail space.
