SNDL Inc. has completed the acquisition of five cannabis retail stores in Alberta and Saskatchewan from 1CM Inc., marking the first closing under an amended and restated arrangement agreement between the two companies. The transaction follows revisions to the original deal finalized in mid-December 2025. SNDL said the acquisition advances its strategy to expand its national retail footprint. A second and final closing is expected in the first half of 2026 and would involve the purchase of an additional 27 cannabis retail stores in Ontario, subject to regulatory approvals. Calgary-based SNDL is one of Canada’s largest vertically integrated cannabis companies and the country’s largest private-sector liquor and cannabis retailer, operating banners such as Value Buds and Spiritleaf. Toronto-based 1CM operates cannabis and liquor stores across Canada and focuses on developing cash-flow-positive retail locations.
