Introduced in Laval in 2017 with a plan to provide quality products, expert advice and positive customer experience, whether you’re an athlete, a fitness enthusiast or simply health-conscious, Shop Sante has become a destination in the supplement and nutrition industry. The stores feature a full line of supplements and general health products including ketogenic, vegan products and a selection of sealed ready-to-eat foods. In late February, Shop Santé opened its first Nova Scotia location to bring the chain to 44 locations. Franchisee Troy Merrick opened a 2,636 square feet location at Dartmouth Crossing, Shop Santé’s second Maritimes store. Eight more stores are opening in late Spring/early Summer including units in Quebec in St-Eustache, Val-D’Or, Limoilou, St-Sauveur, Lachenaie, Jonquiere, etc. While the Quebec market continues to be a major interest, especially in Griffintown, Cowansville, Ste-Marie-de-Beauce, Magog and Bromont areas, in the coming months, the company will be focusing its efforts on securing sites in Ontario, specifically the Orleans and Mississauga communities to start. Eric Gareau of Services Immobiliers E. Gareau is responsible for the chain’s site selection and notes that the preferred locations are power centre-type locations or busy commercial streets. The typical store is in the 2300 and 2500 square feet with clear heights of 14 feet or more. Shop Sante is also actively seeking franchise partners to expand beyond its core market.
