Enters National Capital Region……….

In April, Montreal-based Doyle Optometrists & Opticians opens a unit at the new Destination V at Rue Seto and Vanier Rd. in the Alymer community in Gatineau area in western Quebec. Dr Janie Boucher is the co-owner partner and optometrist on site. Founded in 1978 by optometrist Luc Doyle in Montreal’s St. Henri district, and now led by Patrick Doyle, the clinics combine comprehensive eye exams with a wide selection of glasses, sunglasses and contact lenses. Each location features optometrists and opticians on site, capable of conducting thorough visual assessments, screening for eye diseases, fitting custom lenses, and providing repairs and adjustments. All eyewear is crafted with precision, backed by warranties and supported by in-store laboratories.  In 2024, Doyle launched the Mile-End frame, Quebec’s first entirely locally made eyewear, in collaboration with Atelier Ora.  The Alymer location is the chain’s 27th location in the province, following the October 2025 acquisition and conversion of the Pierre Roy Opticien in Quebec City’s Neufchatel area. The acquisition and new opening are part of the company’s planned expansion strategy combining organic growth and targeted acquisitions.  The co-owned Doyle Optometristes & Opticiens locations are generally in the 2000 square foot range.
