Last week, Montreal-based Foodtastic, the Canadian master franchisor for the Jimmy John’s quick service restaurants opened its first location in Saskatchewan. The 1351 square foot inline unit is in the second phase of the new Evergreen Crossing at location at Payne Bend at McOrmond Dr. in northeast Saskatoon. The restaurant is locally owned and operated by franchisee Jenelle Diederichs. Over 40-years old, Jimmy John’s serves made-to-order sandwiches on French-style bread, sliced wheat bread or tortilla-style wraps, with fresh meats, cheese, a choice of vegetable toppings, etc. for pickup or delivery. The chain opened the first of a 200-unit agreement in Canada in Toronto in late 2024 and ended 2025 with about a dozen locations in operation. Jimmy John’s locations generally operate in highly visible 1200 to 1800 square foot units with convenient access. Scott Friesen at Cushman & Wakefield Saskatoon, who represented the landlord in the transaction, reports that Evergreen Crossing Phases 1 and 2 are now fully leased.
