Over the weekend, the Grewal family, Divinder, Harjinder and Avdeep, experienced restauranteurs and franchisees in the area, opened a Hangry Joe’s quick casual restaurant in the recently renovated Stonegate Plaza on Stone Rd West, across from Stone Road Mall in Guelph. Featuring its menu of Nashville-style hot chicken and wings in various spice levels, it is the first location in Canada for the McLean, Virginia-based chain. Introduced in Northern Virginia in 2021, the franchise reports to have over 100 locations in the U.S., Japan, Korea, the UAE and now, Canada. According to reports in online local news service, GuelphToday, the Grewal family are thinking of future expansion in the Waterloo region as well as the Greater Toronto Area.
