Later in the Summer, local franchisees Robert and Erica Vanderloop will open their first of three La Diperie locations in the Orlando market in Florida. The 1100 square foot location is opening at the Center of Winter Park in Winter Park, just north of Orlando. Introduced in Montreal’s Plateau area in 2014 and part of the MTY Food Group since late 2016, La Diperie is a year-round soft-serve ice cream and frozen desserts franchise that features premium chocolate dips and toppings with over 100 flavour combinations. The units also include a growing menu of shakes, cakes, cookies, donuts, etc. Presently there are over 70 locations in Quebec, Ontario and Alberta and in early 2023, the chain entered the U.S. market with a location in St Petersburg in the Tampa Bay area. It was followed in late 2025 by a location in northern Gainesville. According to its social media reports, the chain anticipates opening 50 locations across Florida within five to ten years. The continuously evolving concept generally operates in high traffic street front locations. Depending on the site and market, the units can range from 400 to about 1000 square feet.
