In early March 2026, SCREO/Dixie Outlet Mall L.P., SCREO/Dixie Outlet Mall Inc., and SCREO/Dixie Outlet Mall GP Inc., the entities that own and operate the Dixie Outlet Mall in Mississauga, were placed in receivership ,on application by National Bank of Canada, acting as administrative agent for a syndicate of secured lenders, according to the Insolvency Insider, the online publication dedicated to the Canadian insolvency market. The borrower entities were special purpose vehicles affiliated with Slate Canadian Real Estate Opportunity Fund I L.P. formed to acquire and operate the shopping centre. Earlier in the week Montreal-based real estate investment and development firm Leyad announced that it has acquired Lloyd Mall in Lloydminster, the regional shopping centre serving communities across eastern Alberta and western Saskatchewan.  “Lloyd Mall fits squarely within our strategy of investing in high-quality retail assets that provide essential goods and services to their communities,” said Henry Zavriyev, CEO of Leyad. “Grocery and pharmacy anchored centres now represent our highest-grossing tenant category, and this acquisition further strengthens that segment of our portfolio.”  Lloyd Mall is the only enclosed mall serving a regional trade area of more than 195,000 residents.  Over 200,000 square feet, Lloyd Mall was fully renovated in 2021 and is anchored by Safeway, Shoppers Drug Mart, Urban Planet, and Dollarama. Pennzoil Quaker State Company, a subsidiary of Shell USA, Inc., has agreed to sell Jiffy Lube International and its subsidiary Premium Velocity Auto to an affiliate of Monomoy Capital Partners for $1.3 billion. The deal includes the Jiffy Lube brand and its network of franchised service centres operated by independent franchisees and PVA. Shell will retain its Pennzoil Quaker State, Rotella and other lubricant brands while continuing manufacturing and distribution across North America.
