Later this week, Japanese lifestyle retailer MUJI opens a 10,802 square foot location at the Tsawwassen Mills in Delta in British Columbia. The chain’s fourth in British Columbia will carry MUJI Canada’s full range of products, from kitchen and home goods to apparel basics and travel items, providing customers with its signature, minimalist everyday essentials. The 46-year-old global chain entered the Canadian market in 2014, with the opening in downtown Toronto. And with its opening in The Well in Fall 2025, the chain currently has four locations in the Greater Toronto Area. Jeffrey Berkowitz at Aurora Retail Group is handling MUJI’s site selection across Canada. The chain targets high profile shopping centre locations and street front locations. The size required is in the 5000 to 20,000 square foot range. Also, later this year, MUJI opens its tenth location in the New York City area. The 12,000 square foot store is opening in the Tangram Mall in Flushing in north central Queens in New York City. In the United States since 2002, MUJI currently operates nine locations in New York City, two in the Boston area in Massachusetts and one in Portland, Oregon.
