Having opened a 417 square foot location in the food court area in Marlborough Mall in Calgary in early 2026, the quick service Kukuruku Crispy Chicken chain is now preparing to open its third location in Calgary at the North Hill Centre. The chain is also preparing to open its fourth location in Tennessee, a 1500 square foot location at The Plaza on Macon on Macon Rd in Cordova, a community just east of Memphis. Introduced in Memphis in 2019 and in Canada since 2024, Kukuruku Chicken has expanded across multiple locations featuring its Filipino-style fresh, hand-prepared fried chicken. The menu emphasizes quality, using 100 percent Canadian chicken that is marinated daily, deeply seasoned, and hand-battered with proprietary ingredients before being fried. The selection includes a variety of offerings, including bone-in crispy chicken, chicken tenders, and wings, along with sides and combo meals. With these soon-to-open additions, the franchise chain has four locations in Tennessee and five in Alberta, in Calgary and Edmonton. According to its social media reports more openings are scheduled for Calgary, Edmonton, Cold Lake and Drayton Valley in Alberta and in Halifax in Nova Scotia. The chain located in a range of formats including food court locations and plaza locations, from about 1200 square feet to 2125 square feet.
