Later this week, the quick casual build-your-own-bowl and salad concept Flameo enters the Moncton, New Brunswick market with a 1250 square foot unit in the new plaza at Morton Ave and Elmwood Dr in the city’s northeast quadrant. Introduced last year in Edmundston and Bathurst in northern New Brunswick by the Savoury Group of restaurant brands, Flameo features a personalized bowl, salad and poutine menu with fresh, premium ingredients, signature sauces and flame-grilled chicken cooked in front of the customer. Designed as an expandable model, Flameo plans to reach 25 locations across Atlantic Canada within five years. The franchise concept has already scheduled openings in the province in Tracadie in May, Miramichi in and Saint John late in the Summer. The company is also preparing to open its first mobile location next month. With the Atlantic markets targeted, Flameo has retained Jim Pushie at Blueberry Commercial Real Estate to handle the real estate search. Current target markets include Fredericton in New Brunswick, Halifax in Nova Scotia and Charlottetown in PEI. In addition, the company is seeking multi-unit deals across the country. Flameo targets units in the 1500 square foot range in high traffic street location and plazas with strong visibility.
