In late February, the India’s Taste chain of popular buffet restaurants opened its fifth location at the RioCan Windfields centre on Simcoe St North in Oshawa. The 2800 square foot restaurant specializes in authentic North Indian cuisine emphasizing traditional recipes, bold flavours, and freshly prepared dishes. India’s Taste caters to dine-in, takeout, catering, and corporate events. Introduced in 2003 in Brampton, the brand has expanded to multiple locations across the Greater Toronto Area, including Mississauga, Markham, and now Oshawa.
RioCan Windfield is an 839,000 square foot mixed-use development at Winchester Rd and Simcoe St in North Oshawa that is anchored by Costco, FreshCo, LCBO, Dollarama along with Services Canada. Construction is about to start on an addition on the Costco-anchored east side of the development for a late 2026/early 2027 possession. Available units include three locations at 1400 square feet each and a 9900 square foot pad. Over 302,000 people are living within a ten-kilometre radius of the centre and the average household income is in excess of $136,000 per year. Ryan Ramal at RioCan REIT is handling the leasing.
