Launches Largest, Fastest Expansion…………..

Early in the New Year, recreational cannabis concept Sessions opened its first new location in 2026 at the Walmart-anchored centre at 354 Government Rd East in Kapuskasing in Northern Ontario. The 2000 square foot location brings the chain to about 48 locations across Ontario and President and CEO Darryl Allen states that there are 15 more openings planned over the coming 18 months, with ten of them falling in 2026. He points out that this will be the chain’s largest and fastest expansion since its launch in Collingwood in late 2019. The Sessions stores feature a broad curated range of cannabis products for the seasoned connoisseur or the curious newcomer, all from established growers.  There is also a selection of related merchandise available.  In addition to sourcing franchise operators, Sessions continues to explore locations throughout the province. The chain’s present interest is mostly on the 401/403 corridor east of Hamilton. Kenora and second locations in both Welland and Cobourg are also in the plans.  Sessions locations are generally in the 1200 to 2000 square foot high traffic sites with strong co-tenancies, good access, visibility, parking and signage.  The stores operate in a range of locations including new-builds, redevelopments, suburban power centres and urban locations with strong pedestrian traffic.
