Natural and organic food chain Ambrosia Natural Foods is preparing to open its next store shortly at the Queen & Ashbridge condominium on Easten Ave in the Leslieville/Beaches area in Toronto. The 12,400 square foot street front location is just west of Coxwell Ave. Introduced as a bulk food concept in the late 1970s on John St in Toronto, Ambrosia Natural Foods gradually added health and wellness lines, vitamins, supplements, natural and organic foods and after relocating to larger premises in the mid-1990s, the company launched a conservative expansion in 2013, adding locations in Vaughan, North York, Newmarket and the new Leslieville location will be the chain’s fifth location. Though no plans have been announced, the family-owned chain has previously stated an interest in the Oakville market, South Etobicoke and Pickering. Ambrosia Natural Foods operates in 10,000 to 12,000 square foot locations that have strong exposure and access and with sufficient parking. Units with at least 16-foot ceilings and at least one truck-level loading door are preferred.
