In April, Quebec entrepreneur Andreanne Marquis, owner and founder Womance, the ladies’ fashion, accessories and home goods concept, will open the chain’s fifth location. The 2000 square foot location is in Place Ste Foy fashion mall in the upscale Sainte-Foy community, just west of downtown Quebec City. Ms Marquis introduced Womance in mid-2015 as an online concept. In late 2016, Womance opened its first pop-up store in Quebec City and more short-term pop-up stores were opened across the province, from Rimouski to Gatineau followed by permanent locations. Now, with positive response to its four permanent locations, in Quebec City, Brossard, Laval and Trois-Rivieres, the chain is in an expansion mode with plans to expand its footprint across Quebec and possibly other markets. Negotiations are presently underway for a sixth location to open late in the Fall and the chain will then focus on Spring 2027 openings. Manon Larose and Michelle Marcotte at Oberfeld Snowcap are handling the site selection targeting locations in the 1800 square foot range.
