Just weeks after closing its almost 20-year-old restaurant in Yorkdale Shopping Centre in Toronto, the premium casual Moxies chain announced that it will be opening a 7100 square foot location at 139 Park Place Blvd in Park Place in south Barrie in Ontario in April. With seating for about 300 guests, the new unit will feature its latest contemporary design with warm finishes, modern details and generous natural light. The restaurant will also include an enclosed patio for year-round dining and an open-air patio. It will be the chain’s 60th location. “We create dynamic spaces where a chef-driven culinary program, standout cocktails and genuinely warm hospitality come together to deliver an incredible vibe,” said Moxies President, COO Joanne Forrester. “This opening marks an exciting milestone for our brand, and we’re thrilled to reintroduce Moxies to the Barrie community with a beautifully designed space that delivers elevated dining in an energetic, welcoming setting.” The new Moxies Barrie location underscores the brand’s continued growth in Ontario and reinforces Moxies’ commitment to bringing premium casual dining experiences to more communities across Canada. The upscale restaurants target high traffic locations with prominent street presence, day and evening traffic and near major entertainment and sports venues. Locations are generally in the 7000 square foot range with 1500 to 3000 square foot patios. In addition, later in March, Moxies is opening its tenth location in the U.S. and third in Florida in a 5000 square foot on the ground floor of the CityPlace on South Rosemary Ave. in West Palm Beach.
