A spin-off of the family owned 20-year-old upscale Thaifoon restaurant in London in southwestern Ontario, the first Soi Thaifoon quick service street food concept opened in Kitchener in early 2023. Soi Thaifoon is a vibrant Thai street food brand born from a passion for authentic flavours and good vibes. Rooted in tradition yet inspired by modern tastes, Soi Thaifoon serves a bold and flavourful menu that brings the streets of Thailand to life. With ingredients sourced directly from Thailand, the menu is prepared from scratch and features popular dishes such as Pad Thai, Curries, Pad Ke Mao and its popular house-made peanut sauce. The restaurants also serve Halal-certified meats to ensure an experience that’s both original and inclusive. The quick service has expanded and, in addition to a unit that opened in Bangkok in Thailand in 2025, there are three locations in Ontario, in Kitchener, Oakville and at the Waterworks Food Hall in downtown Toronto. Continuing its expansion in the GTA, the chain has announced plans for openings in the new mixed-use building at 25 Dalhousie St in downtown Toronto and in Burlington. A franchise company, Thaifoon Hospitality Group is also planning expansion in the U.K. and the Middle Eastern markets.
