In late January, Pattison Food Group opened a 45,000 square foot Buy-Low Foods supermarket in the former Save-on-Foods location at the Pinetree Village Shopping Centre on Lougheed Hwy in Coquitlam. Buy-Low Foods is a Western Canadian grocery chain founded in 1966, and part of the Pattison Group since 1995. It operates about 17 supermarkets across British Columbia and Alberta, offering a wide range of food and household products at competitive prices. The company emphasizes community, quality, sustainability, and customer value.
With this opening, two locations will be available in the 201,000 square foot open community centre. They include a 3011 square foot former restaurants that will be available in late 2026 and a 5200 square foot freestanding pad that is available in mid-2026. Located at Lougheed Hwy and Pinetree Way, the centre caters to over 193,800 people within a five-kilometre radius. The average age in the area is about 41-years and the average annual household income is in excess of $116,000. Jay de Nance at Choice Properties is handling the leasing.
