In late November 2025, Rosie’s Burgers opened its first location in Atlantic Canada at 2426 Blowers St on the ‘Pizza Corner’ in Halifax. And a second location, a 1700 square foot unit at 7165 Chebucto Rd at Joseph Howe Dr at the Armdale Rotary in Halifax, opens shortly. Rosie’s is part of the Happy Belly Food Group portfolio and David Wilson of Lighthouse Franchising has an area development agreement to open 15 Rosie’s locations in the four Atlantic Provinces. Wilson has noted that while expansion is largely dependent on franchising, the focus is on the major markets in Atlantic Canada. Rosie’s Burgers operate in highly visible locations with convenient access and in the 800 to 1500 square foot range. Lacey MacDonald and Dawn MacDonald at Blueberry Commercial Real Estate are handling the site selection in the Atlantic market. Introduced in Toronto in 2020, Rosie’s is a boutique QSR restaurant brand featuring an original recipe handcrafted smash burger along with poutine, onion rings, milkshakes, etc.
