Often in Combo-Sites…….

In late March, Lokma Dessert opened a street front location at Ave Lacombe and Ave Gatineau in Montreal’s Cote-des-Neiges neighbourhood. This brings the seven your old chain of specialty dessert cafes to 15 locations in Quebec and Ontario with openings planned for Montreal North and the South Shore in Quebec, Kingston in southeastern Ontario and Edmonton in Alberta. Lokma Pastry specializes in fresh-made Lokma, a deep-fried bite-size Turkish pastry that can be personalized with various toppings.  The concept was introduced in Montreal after co-founder and CEO Fahad Syed came upon the dessert item on a trip to Turkey. In addition to the pastry items, the cafes also offer ice creams, milkshakes, beverages and specialty coffees.  The search continues for franchisees and suitable locations and Eric Gareau at Services Immobilier E. Gareau is handling the chain’s site selection. The specialty cafes will often open as combo locations and target highly visible 1200 square foot sites with strong pedestrian traffic.  Venting and hood are required, and patios as welcomed.
