In early February, franchisee Vivek Patel opened a Freshslice Pizza location at the entrance of the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre on Old Hwy 69 in Hanmer, a community located about 24 kilometres northeast of Sudbury in Northern Ontario. Freshslice Pizza is a Canadian pizza chain and franchise founded in 1999 by Ray Russell in Vancouver. Originally known for pizza by the slice, it has expanded to more than 200 locations in Canada and the U.S. with a focus on fresh ingredients, unlimited toppings, and value pricing.
With this opening, several locations from 1250 to 2116 square feet remain available in the 136,000 square foot enclosed neighbourhood mall along with a 5315 square foot exterior location. Shawn Abramovitz at Pivotal Commercial Realty is handling the leasing for the Food Basics and Hart -anchored mall. Co-tenants include a mix of national retailers including Tim Horton’s, St. Louis Bar & Grill, Beer Store, LCBO, Snap Fitness, H&R Block, Pharmasave, etc. Five future residential buildings are under development at the site.
