In a partnership with Express Retail Group and University Health Network, last week iStore Inc placed its new premium automated retail kiosk at the Toronto General Hospital in downtown Toronto. The standalone unit blends cutting-edge vending technology with connected health devices, offering patients, visitors, and staff, convenient access to essentials such as earbuds, charging cables, thermometers, heart monitors, and other smart health accessories. Joel Teitelbaum, iStore’s CEO, explained that the merchandise mix will be adjusted based on feedback and performance before considering further hospital locations adding that the company would also be receptive to other venues such as rail stations, convention centres and resort hotels. Express Retail Group represents and operates the iStore automated retail concept in Canada and CEO Chris Zownir is actively pursuing locations in airports across Canada, including secondary and tertiary markets, building on the success of the dozen machines at Toronto-YYZ and Montreal-YUL. Founded in Montreal in 2007, iStore is one of North America’s largest independent Apple Authorized Resellers. Focused on tech-forward travel retail, there are currently about 40 inline iStore boutiques in airports and a network of more than 60 automated retail machines across Canada and the United States.
