In 2025, the Nova Scotia-based Mezza Lebanese Kitchen celebrated 35 years since opening its first Halifax location. The chain also expanded across Canada with new restaurants in Alberta, Newfoundland, and the Maritimes, and opened a new production centre and head office in Dartmouth. The chain is also finalizing a multi-unit development agreement in Ontario with an experienced QSR group in Windsor, setting the stage for even more growth in 2026. The Ontario agreement calls for 15 units over five years and the first five locations are slated to open by Summer 2026. Mezza Lebanese Kitchen is a Middle Eastern/Mediterranean chain of restaurants that was launched as a food court concept in the Halifax Shopping Centre. The restaurants feature a fresh menu of signature chicken shawarma, falafel, donairs, combo plates, salads, etc. The items are prepared using locally sourced poultry, bakery products and produce. All sauces are made in-house with several quality ingredients selected from Lebanon. Presently there are 24 locations operating in Atlantic Canada and Calgary. Currently there are 23 restaurants operating in the four Atlantic Provinces and now, one in Calgary. The Mezza restaurants require high traffic sites with a focus on the 1800 to 2000 square foot street and plaza locations.
