Paris Baguette, the global bakery café franchise with over 4,000 locations around the world, closed 2025 with strong momentum, laying the foundation for a secure 2026 as it continues on the trajectory to and beyond 1,000 North American locations by 2030. The chain is on track to open its 400th North American bakery café this year, a result of 150 planned openings. Present plans include expansion into ten new U.S. states, Canadian provinces, and territories. Those plans include ten locations in Canada in 2026, presently targeting the Toronto, Urban Toronto, Durham, Oakville, Mississauga, Burlington, Hamilton and London areas. With its opening at the SmartCentres Etobicoke on North Queen St in Etobicoke in December, there are about 15 locations in Canada and a unit is scheduled to open in Hillcrest Mall in Richmond Hill in early February. Other openings are scheduled for Markham, Pickering and Vaughan in Ontario and Moncton and Halifax in Atlantic Canada. “Reflecting on the past year, it’s clear that, while we’re opening doors, we’re also building the heart of the community,” said CEO Darren Tipton. “Reaching nearly 80 new café openings and celebrating our 250th location were two major wins for us, but I’m especially proud of our people. All of our successes are a result of the people behind Paris Baguette, and they prove that we’re operating with more heart and focus than ever before.” The Paris Baguette concept was introduced in Korea in 1988 and presently operates in about 15 countries in Asia, Europe and North America featuring its unique selection of freshly baked pastries, cakes, made-on-site breads and a café-menu of sandwiches, salads, etc. along with fresh-brewed coffees. Geoffrey Smith and Mike Sabetti at CBRE Ltd. are responsible for the chain’s site selection in Canada. Both urban and suburban locations, and highly visible end cap and standalone units in the 2500 to 3500 square foot range are required.
