In late December, Montreal-based tea merchant DAVIDsTEA Inc. returned to Laurier Quebec in Quebec City with a 1060 square foot location and a suggestion on social media that there may be more openings in 2026. Introduced in 2008, DAVIDsTEA is a publicly traded company that features specialty branded high-quality proprietary loose-leaf teas, pre-packaged teas, tea sachets, tea-related accessories and gifts through an eCommerce platform, its wholesale customers as well as over 20 company-owned stores in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia in Canada. While firm expansion plans have not been announced, in late 2025, the company reported that it had secured a private placement that would be used to open new stores in Canada and to support working capital requirements. The company-owned DAVID’s TEA stores operate in malls, street front, lifestyle and outlet centres in units in the 500 to 1000 square foot range.
