Oodles Wok is a UK-born, family-founded quick casual restaurant brand known for its fresh, bold Indo-Chinese fusion cuisine, served in bento boxes, wraps, etc., along with other wok-fresh dishes prepared to order. Brothers Mohammed Umar and Ismail Umar launched the concept in Leicester in 2010, and the chain has grown to more than 50 locations across the United Kingdom and expanding internationally with a flagship in Dubai in 2024. In mid-2025, Oodles Wok made its Canadian debut, opening its first location in at 41 Lebovic Ave in Toronto’s Scarborough community. This launch marked Canada as the brand’s second international market after the UAE and a key step in its global expansion strategy. Later this week, Toronto-based Franchisee Zaki Ullah opens the second Oodles Wok location at 6191 Mayfield Rd. in Brampton featuring its high-quality ingredients, an open-kitchen experience, and a bold flavour profile that blends Chinese cooking techniques with Indian spices. The chain is actively recruiting franchise partners to help grow its presence across Canada, reflecting ambitious plans for continued domestic expansion. The Oodles Wok restaurants is exploring opportunities for its various formats from across Canada. High traffic food court and kiosk locations in malls, mixed-use projects and airports will operate in 300 to 600 square feet while its inline standalone units in busy plazas require 600 to 1200 square feet. Its high traffic flagship sites with seating for 40 to 55 guests will operate in 1200 to 2000 square feet.
