A staff hiring event was held last week and construction is well underway on the second Fazoli’s restaurant in Canada. The unit is in the former Fatburger end cap location at the Cornerstone Shopping Centre on Southridge Dr. in Okotoks, a community located about 40 kilometres south of Calgary. Fazoli’s is a chain of quick casual Italian restaurants, founded in 1988 and owned by the Los Angeles-based FAT Brands restaurant group. One of the largest QSR Italian chain in the U.S., Fazoli’s was introduced in Lexington in Kentucky, and presently franchises and operates about 200 locations in 26 about states. Known for its signature unlimited breadsticks, the restaurants feature quality fast, fresh Italian-style food with a menu that includes freshly prepared pasta entrees, sub sandwiches, salads, pizza and desserts, emphasizing its quick service, value pricing, and family-friendly dining. In mid-2025, the first of 25 units in Canada, opened at the 80 Malogany Rd. SE in the Mahogany Village Commons in southeast Calgary, part of a development agreement with Briwin Restaurants Inc., an existing multi-unit Fatburger franchisee, that was signed in Spring 2024. The Okotoks location opens shortly. The typical Fazoli’s restaurants range from 800 to 2500 square feet.
