In early 2024, Atlanta-based Inspire Brands signed an international franchise agreement with Montreal-based Foodtastic Inc. to bring the Jimmy John’s Sandwiches quick service chain to Canada. In Fall of that year, the first Canadian location opened on North Queen St in Etobicoke. Over 40-years old, Jimmy John’s serves made-to-order sandwiches on French-style bread, sliced wheat bread or tortilla-style wraps, with fresh meats, cheese, a choice of vegetable toppings, etc. for pickup or delivery. By the end of 2025, Foodtastic had about a dozen Jimmy John’s locations operating in Ontario and Manitoba with more reported to be under development. Jimmy John’s locations generally operate in highly visible 1200 to 1800 square foot units with convenient access.
