Earlier in the week, Happy Belly Food Group Inc. announced that it has exercised its right to acquire the remaining 50 percent of PIRHO Fresh Greek Grill, making the brand a 100 percent wholly owned subsidiary of Happy Belly. PIRHO Fresh Greek Grill serves gourmet bowls, wraps, and pitas as a fast casual Greek restaurant with the fresh wholesome tastes of Greece and its traditional foods. Final transaction details to be announced at the close of the transaction, expected to be in the third quarter. PIRHO True Food Grill is a ten-year-old quick casual Greek/Mediterranean restaurant concept with three restaurants in Ottawa and one in Calgary. In May 2023, Happy Belly and PIRHO founder George Plagakis formed a joint venture company for the purposes of corporate franchise expansion and growth acceleration of PIRHO Fresh Greek Grill Restaurants. The restaurants operate in highly visible street front and plaza locations with convenient access in the 1400 to 2500 square foot range.
