In late 2022, Aegis Brands Inc. acquired the 30-year-old St Louis Bar & Grill chain of full-service casual restaurants with plans to grow the brand across Canada and beyond. Presently the neighbourhood bar franchise operates over 75 restaurants in Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Alberta. Introduced in Toronto in 1992, the St Louis Bar & Grill casual sports bar has become known for its signature wings, ribs and garlic sauce and its ‘Devilishly Good’ service. Aegis Brands has retained David Steinhouse at The Behar Group Realty to handle the site selection for the chain in Ontario’s Halton, Hamilton and Niagara Regions and a present search is underway targeting Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton, Ancaster, Niagara Falls, and St. Catharines markets. The St Louis Bar & Grill restaurants generally locate in highly visible 2200 to 3500 square foot locations with patios of at least 500 square feet and strong daytime and evening traffic. Freestanding locations, end caps, and shared pad units are considered, as are conversions.
