In addition to its 25,000 square foot location on Orfus Rd in Toronto that opened in mid-Summer and a location in the Tecumseh Mall in Windsor that has been delayed but expected to open this year, Zellers is planning to open a 65,727 square foot location at Cambridge Centre in Cambridge by the end of 2026. The department store chain, with its broadened merchandise offering, is growing beyond its core apparel, accessories, home and seasonal categories, to include enhanced home décor, linens, toys, etc., has also announced plans to open in the Shoppers World in Brampton and the Malvern Town Centre in Scarborough in 2027 with a few more locations to be identified shortly. Zellers is continuing its national search for locations in the 20,000 to 30,000 square foot range, mainly targeting anchor positions with interior and exterior access in enclosed malls. And in the right circumstances, large format/power centres are also considered. Jessie Putre at Oberfeld Snowcap is handling the site selection for Zellers.
