In late 2026 or early 2027, a 20,000 square foot E-Joy Food Mart will open in the former JYSK location at the Dartmouth Crossing, the major mixed-use project in Dartmouth in Nova Scotia. E-Joy Food Mart is an independent specialty supermarket providing a diverse selection of Asian foods, fresh produce, frozen products, snacks, beverages and everyday household essentials. Introduced in a 16,800 square foot location on Clyde St in Halifax in mid-2024, the concept caters to multicultural communities, emphasizing authentic imported products alongside locally sourced items. As consumer demand for global cuisines continues to grow, E-Joy Food Mart is strengthening its presence by serving neighbourhoods seeking quality, value and a broad assortment of Asian grocery products.
Dartmouth Crossing is Atlantic Canada’s largest open retail and commercial destination featuring both full-price and a growing collection of outlet brands. Located in Dartmouth, the 1.8-million square foot development is in four distinct districts – the big box district, with large and medium-format brands, including Atlantic Canada’s only IKEA location, The Village Shops at Dartmouth Crossing, a main street lined with stylish boutiques and fashion-forward outlets, the entertainment district with its restaurants and multiple entertainment draws including a new Casino Nova Scotia coming soon, along with the thriving business district, which includes over 142,000 square feet of integrated office space. Its strategic location with strong highway access and ample parking attracts shoppers from across the Halifax Regional Municipality and beyond. Director of leasing Cory MacIntosh reports that two units are currently available in the project. Both are in the fashion village area and measure 1723 square feet and 3529 square feet.
